Four ageing radiators swapped for high-output units, three more added, and the 250L cylinder tucked into the basement. Result: a constant 21°C throughout the house at over 450% efficiency.
“We were told a property like ours couldn’t run on a heat pump. Aventus Eco proved everyone wrong.”

Homeowners in Scotland can continue to claim £7,500 to £9,000 for a new heat pump. Our MCS- and Heat Geek-certified installs qualify for the maximum support.
“My gas bills are through the roof, and my house still isn’t warm.”
“We live in the old town conservation area. Are we even allowed an outdoor unit?”
“I’m nervous about choosing the wrong installer and wasting money.”
We answer those worries with measurements. A heat pump installation in Kilsyth begins with a heat loss calculation for every room, allowing for how exposed your house sits, and the radiator sizes, flow temperature and unit follow from those figures.
Your quote then sets the design running cost beside your own gas, oil or LPG bills. An old sandstone house on Main Street gets the same measured design we give each heat pump installation in Glasgow.
• The old town. A conservation area since 1971, so wall units go on the rear at ground floor.
• Off-gas edges. Around Banton, Queenzieburn and Croy, more homes heat with oil, LPG or storage heaters.
• Hill exposure. A house up the Tak-ma-doon Road sits colder than one in Market Square, and we size for that.

An outdoor unit can go on a house in a conservation area, and the rules decide where. We mark a rear, ground-floor position at the survey, then design from each room’s heat loss.
Your heat loss calculation allows for how exposed the house sits, so a hillside home gets the output it needs.
We size each radiator to its room so the heat pump can run at a low flow temperature.
We set the heat pump’s expected running cost next to your own current fuel bills.
Off-gas homes in accessible rural areas can get up to £9,000 from Home Energy Scotland, and HES confirms the band.

Scroll through the year: heat pump efficiency month by month on a Scottish install, dip included.
Every sceptical homeowner asks the same thing: what happens when it is minus three outside?
January costs more than July. The line shows it, because hiding the dip is how installers lose trust.
Even in the trough, one kilowatt in becomes about three kilowatts of heat. A gas boiler never clears one.
Radiators and flow temperature are sized at minus three, so the coldest week is already in the design.
One number sums the year up: every month averaged, measured on real installs, not promised in a brochure.

Penny and Monique’s 1920s Sandstone End-Terrace in Mount Florida, Glasgow
Penny and Monique’s 1920s sandstone end-terrace near Hampden Stadium was draughty, with little insulation, and everyone said a heat pump would never work there. Loco Home Retrofit, a Glasgow co-op that plans whole-house retrofits, sent them to us.
The room-by-room calculation called for a 7kW Vaillant aroTHERM plus at a 45°C flow temperature. We swapped four radiators for high-output units, added three more and fixed an earlier installer’s plumbing.
The 250-litre cylinder went into a 1.2-metre basement, and every room now holds 21°C. A Main Street sandstone house faces stricter planning, yet it starts the same way: measure the heat loss, then choose the heat pump.
“We were told a property like ours couldn’t run on a heat pump. Aventus Eco proved everyone wrong. The house is warm all the time.” Penny & Monique, Mount Florida, ★★★★★

Illustration of a typical installation
We visit your Kilsyth property, measure every room for a heat loss calculation that allows for exposure, and check your fuel bills; in the conservation area we look at the rear elevation and any listing. Your quote itemises price, likely grant band and running cost.
On a gas property we remove the boiler, fit the cylinder and outdoor unit, upsize any radiators flagged at survey and cap the gas; an oil or LPG boiler comes out the same way. Floors stay covered, and your quote gives the timescale.
We commission to MCS standard, set the weather compensation curve for how exposed your house sits and walk you through the controls and the app. After that, our heat pump servicing across the Glasgow area keeps it running to its design.

In most cases, yes. Inside the Kilsyth Conservation Area, a wall unit on the rear elevation at ground floor level is permitted development, and so is a unit on its own base standing behind the front and clear of any road-facing side. Listed buildings need North Lanarkshire Council consent; our guide to heat pump planning permission sets out the siting rules.
Yes, if it is sized for the hill. A property up the Tak-ma-doon Road sits higher and more exposed than central Kilsyth, and the design allows for that. Penny and Monique’s 1920s Mount Florida house runs on a 7kW unit and stays at 21°C in every room, and our Scottish winters efficiency guide shows how units cope below freezing.
For a Kilsyth property on heating oil, a heat pump sized to the house makes one of the strongest cases for switching, because oil costs more per unit of heat than electricity used at heat pump efficiency. The same goes for LPG and storage heaters. We compare your real fuel bills with the design running cost.
Home Energy Scotland’s standard grant for a Kilsyth owner-occupier is up to £7,500, and HES can also lend you up to £7,500 at no interest to spread the balance. Off-gas homes around Kilsyth that fall in the accessible rural band may qualify for £9,000, which Home Energy Scotland confirms by address.
For a standard Kilsyth semi on mains gas, the installed price of £15,000 to £20,000 drops to £7,500 to £12,500 after the £7,500 grant. Larger stone properties and exposed farmhouses around Kilsyth can cost more, and we price yours exactly after the survey.
Send us your address and we will confirm. Any property we survey in the villages around Kilsyth gets the same room-by-room heat loss calculation as one in the town, and we check whether your address falls in Home Energy Scotland’s higher rural band.
For an off-gas Kilsyth home, a full heat pump is our recommendation. Keeping the oil or LPG boiler as back-up keeps the tank, the deliveries and the boiler service, and choosing a hybrid means no Home Energy Scotland grant, worth up to £7,500 here. A full heat pump sized to the house covers the coldest week on its own.
Ask each installer who quotes in Kilsyth to show you the outdoor design temperature they used for your address. For a conservation area property, ask to see the outdoor unit position on a drawing. A quote that arrives without either was sized from a chart. We put both in writing at the survey.

Aventus installed an ASHP heating system for us in a 1950s house in Newton Mearns. Initially we contacted them to help us future proof our home as we were planning some retrofit works. They carried out the preparatory pipework during the build & were very good at working around our timeline and liaising with the builders. Following this we decided to see it through and had the new heat pump installed towards the end of the building works. During the installation, the team were all very polite and helpful. We had the majority of pipework replaced with copper alongside 4 new radiators & a cylinder installation which was all carried out to a high standard. The team were patient with our specific requests. We are delighted with the dark grey Panasonic unit & appreciated the fact the unit is not over specified which means that it sits neatly underneath our new windows. There were various post install issues however these were resolved with a professional attitude. So far we have found the house to be very cosy with exceptionally hot water which exceeds our expectations. Time will tell over the winter how efficient it is given the age of the house, however we feel reassured having Aventus by our side and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.+0Posted on Google![]()

We wanted to retrofit our home to improve energy efficiency, change to an air source heat pump (ASHP) and add solar panels and a battery. Aventus Eco was recommended by a Retrofit Consultancy. Sean clearly explained and planned out the processes for our ASHP. We really felt that he was interested to make it work well for us. Installation was smooth. The team was well coordinated and communicated well during the process. They completed the work to a very high standard and minimised any disruption to our home. We were so impressed with the ASHP fitting that we quickly followed this up with Aventus Eco planning and installing our solar panels and battery. We would highly recommend Sean and the Aventus Eco team.Posted on Google![]()

Changing from gas central heating to renewables isn’t simple but, having asked four companies to quote to convert our system, Sean stood out as someone who cared about getting the design right, optimising it for our house while clearly explaining how and why. He helped us understand how heat pumps, solar panels and batteries all work together and gave us confidence that the conversion would be possible and relatively simple. The Anvetus installation team were brilliant - polite and efficient with a can-do attitude to problem solving. They cared about our property, checking in with us as they worked and clearing up as much as possible each day. Everything felt planned and coordinated and a heat pump, new hot water tank and system, 10 solar panels and a battery were installed and up and running in a week, despite some unexpected challenges along the way. The whole team went out of their way to make this a smooth experience, from initial visit to final handover paperwork. We would highly recommend Sean and Aventus Eco.Posted on Google![]()

Our household was going through the Home Energy Scotland grant and loan scheme as we qualified for a heat pump. Sean came recommended by an insulation company and I’m glad that I reached out. Despite being very busy, Sean was keen to get a solution for us, his knowledge and work ethic came across immediately so we were happy to have Aventus take on the work. Meeting, survey, work scheduled, and completed to a very high standard. We’re very happy with our heat pump system as well as the ongoing support from Sean.Posted on Google![]()

Sean and the team at Aventus Eco did a fantastic job installing our air source heat pump. They were really friendly, proactive and efficient throughout the whole process. After trying to find a suitable air source heat pump installer for a number of years, Sean filled us with confidence from the moment we met him. He was the first person who properly reassured us about the design, the suitability of the system and the long-term cost benefits. The installation itself was carried out with real care and professionalism. The team put everything back in place afterwards and left the house as though they had never been there. Since the instal, the house now constantly feels like it is at a comfortable temperature, and the amount of energy we use on a daily basis compared to our old electric boiler has been reduced. We are looking forward to seeing how this continues in the colder months. We would happily recommend Aventus Eco and Sean to anyone considering an air source heat pump.Posted on Google![]()

Sean and the team at Aventus Eco provided exceptional support when we needed it most. Our heat pump had been incorrectly installed by another company that has since gone into liquidation, leaving us with nearly three years of no heating, ongoing faults, and constant leaks. Aventus Eco truly saved the day. Sean quickly identified the issues that had caused continuous problems for years and resolved them properly. We finally have warmth in our home again, along with peace of mind and renewed hope. The service has been first class throughout, with excellent ongoing support. Outstanding Service from Aventus Eco Ltd – Highly Recommended! I had been struggling with unusually high electricity consumption—around 50 kWh per day—due to my air source heat pump system. Despite reaching out to multiple companies, including the original installer, no one was willing to help or even respond. That’s when I contacted Sean from Aventus Eco Ltd, and I’m so glad I did. Sean promptly visited my home, conducted a thorough evaluation of all relevant factors, and successfully identified the root cause of the issue. He didn’t stop there—he also provided a detailed report that I could share with the installer and even offered to assist further in resolving the problem. Sean’s professionalism, technical expertise, and willingness to go the extra mile truly set him apart. He is an absolute superstar, and I can’t recommend Aventus Eco Ltd highly enough for anyone facing similar challenges.Posted on Google![]()

Exactly as the process should be – right from start to finish Aventus Eco fitted solar panels, battery storage and an air-source heat pump, and the whole experience has been great. There was no hard sell from these guys, just lots of advice from people who clearly care about what they do, their business and their reputation. They took the time to get the design right for my home, including properly working out our power use and heat loss and sizing everything accordingly. The solar panels were a no brainer, but Aventus suggested right sizing the solar panels and adding battery storage. Home energy when the sun’s not shining – brilliant. It’s working flawlessly. The heat pump means I’m no longer dependent on global oil and I’ve cut my carbon footprint. Heat pumps get a lot of bad press, often due to hard-sell companies pushing numbers rather than doing the job properly. The difference here is the care Aventus put in, and the work they have done with Heat Geek and their accreditation process (check their Youtube videos). That was the deciding factor. None of the other companies I spoke to had it. It gave me real confidence everything would be set up properly — and it shows. Originally, I wanted to keep the oil boiler “just in case”. I’m glad I took the leap to ditch it and trust the Aventus design. The house is comfortable and warm throughout. Neat install, great communication, and they made the grant process easy. Aventus Eco combine technical know-how with genuine customer care, and I’d happily recommend them. Thanks. Genuinely.+2Posted on Google![]()

We initially had Sean over to provide a quote, and as we didn’t know much about heat pumps, he explained everything clearly and in a way we could easily understand. He emphasized the importance of proper heat loss calculations for our property, which helped us determine which existing radiators we could keep. Sean also walked us through how the system would operate once installed and shared tips on how to get the best efficiency from it. When the team came to install the system, the entire process was incredibly streamlined and completed in just three days. The guys made sure to cover all our carpets and left the place spotless. I can honestly say Sean and his team were fantastic—our heat pump is now up and running, and even on the coldest days, our energy usage is nearly half compared to gas. Although we’ve needed to tweak a few settings, Sean took the time to show us exactly how to adjust everything. I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone. In fact, we’ve already referred him to our neighbors, and he’s now working on their system too. Thanks again, Sean and teamPosted on Google![]()

We had an excellent experience with Sean and his team at Aventus Eco. They recently installed our air source heat pump and hot water system, and Sean was hands-on throughout the entire process. What really stood out was the additional guidance Sean provided about how we could improve our home’s insulation and reduce drafts. He explained how making these simple DIY improvements would help lower the heat loss in our home, ultimately reducing our energy bills in the long run. Sean’s approach was practical and cost-conscious, giving us great tips for upgrades that we could do ourselves to make the system even more efficient. The level of detail and care he put into both the installation and the advice was impressive. It’s clear that Aventus Eco is dedicated to not just installing systems, but making sure they perform at their best for the customer.
