Penny and Monique’s 1920s sandstone end-terrace near Hampden Stadium was old, draughty and lightly insulated. They wanted 21°C all year and lower running costs without losing its character, and Loco Home Retrofit, a community-led Glasgow co-op, sent them to us.
We designed a 7kW Vaillant aroTHERM plus at a 45°C flow, replaced four radiators with high-output units, added three more and fixed poor plumbing from an earlier job. The 250-litre cylinder went into a 1.2-metre-high basement, and every room now gets 21°C.
